The Taft Times Gets a Reboot, and So Does the Main Office!
Happy Summer! This issue brings two important updates for Taft families.

A New Look for the Taft Times
Based on family feedback, we've redesigned the Taft Times to be easier to read on your phone and less frequent in your inbox. Look for new issues on the 1st and 15th of each month, opening with Upcoming Events, followed by Taft News, Important Links, PTO Information, and Community Flyers. Have a suggestion for a helpful link? Reply to this post and let us know!

Main Office Construction: Security Enhancement Project
Beginning as early as July 1st, the Taft Main Office will be undergoing construction. Please call ahead at 508-278-8643 before visiting. ESY and Century 21 participants should enter through the Cafeteria doors. Thank you for your patience as we work to make Taft even safer!

Third Grade Move-Up Day and Family Picnic
On Friday, June 12th, Taft celebrated our departing third graders with a memorable send-off. The day began with the Third Grade Clap Out, where students walked through the halls of Taft led by Tuffy the Tiger, cheered on by their younger Taft Tigers one last time.

From there, students made the walk up to Whitin School for a preview of what's ahead before returning to Taft for a festive family picnic. Mrs. Rapoza then led students in a few songs that made for some truly special and memorable moments. Thank you, Mrs. Rapoza!

During the picnic, Mr. L recognized Nathaniel Rivera for his winning entry in the 2027 Casella Calendar Art Contest, a regional competition for third graders across the Northeast focused on themes of reducing, reusing, recycling, and caring for the earth. Congratulations, Nathaniel, and thank you to Mrs. Mannka for supporting his work!

Back-to-School Supplies
We want to make supply shopping as easy as possible this year. Taft families have two options:

Option 1: Shop Your Own List
Click your child's grade level below to view and print their supply list:
Kindergarten | Grade 1 | Grade 2 | Grade 3

Option 2: EduKit (Pre-Packaged & Teacher-Approved)
Our PTO has partnered with EduKit to offer custom supply kits built specifically for Taft classrooms. Kits are high-quality, teacher-approved, and can save families up to 40% compared to typical retail prices. Order by July 10th for free shipping directly to the school!  Order at www.edukitinc.com.  See the flyer at the bottom of this Taft Times for more details.

Second Grade Country Research Presentations
On Friday, June 5th, second grade students welcomed families to Taft to share the fruits of their hard work. Each student researched a country, prepared a presentation, and then showcased what they learned to visiting family members. To close out the event, students came together to perform songs from around the world.

Great job to all of our second grade students, and thank you to the teachers who made this experience possible. We also extend a warm thank you to the families who came out to celebrate their children!

Field Day
Despite ever-changing forecasts for problematic weather, Taft pulled off an amazing Field Day on Monday, June 1st! A huge thank you to PE Teacher Mr. Riel for organizing the entire event, and to our PTO for their tremendous support in making the day a success.  The students (and staff) had so much fun!
